Heartstart Malvern helps local people to be ready to respond. We provide free, practical, hands-on training that teaches people how to recognise a cardiac arrest, perform CPR and use a defibrillator with confidence.
But knowing what to do is only part of the solution.
We believe everyone should have access to a defibrillator when they need one. That's why we work with local communities to increase the number available across Malvern and the surrounding area.
Our volunteers check and maintain each device every fortnight, and with more funding, we can continue to expand this vital network and help save more lives.
Since launching in 2017, we have trained more than 7,500 local residents and schoolchildren and helped provide 39 public access defibrillators across our community.

By the end of 2027, our 10th anniversary year, our goal is to train 10,000 local people in CPR and defibrillator skills.
We’ve already trained thousands of people across Malvern, but there’s still a long way to go.

Every person who learns CPR and how to use a defibrillator becomes another potential lifesaver — at home, at work, at school and out in the community.

Help Keep Livesaving Defibs Ready
Our network of Public Access Defibrillators is at the heart of Heartstart Malvern’s mission.
Our dedicated Defib Guardians check each device at least every fortnight to ensure it is accessible and ready for use. Heartstart Malvern also funds essential maintenance and replacement parts, including pads and batteries, as well as replacing the defibrillators themselves every 10 years.
This vital network comes with ongoing costs, but it means our local communities have access to life-saving equipment in an emergency.
